About Joseph Chang
I remember when I finally heard the words, "You’re allowed to feel what you feel" from a friend, a weight was lifted off my shoulders, I felt connected, I was whole. I carry this spirit to understand, accept, and support any client and their experiences as they are. Every person is a complex collection of different experiences, beliefs, hurts, culture, relationships, emotions, thoughts, and more. I will approach you as a whole person, with a goal to meet you where are, and work alongside you to help you achieve the goals you have come to counseling hoping to achieve, with the emotional safety and respect you deserve.
I enjoy working with couples and families to support them get through difficult times. I provide a safe space my clients can share their pain, thoughts, and feelings without the threat of judgment, and work towards change that feels right to them. I have experience working with range of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. I am currently open to couples, so if any of the points above resonated with you and/or your partner, please reach out! I would be happy to hear your story and work out how I can
support you.
Joseph is currently seeing clients (couples and families) virtually and in person in Scotts Valley, CA.

About Maricel
Life can be hard at times, especially while navigating it alone. Sometimes it can be difficult to sort out all our feelings, especially when things are messy, confusing, and overwhelming. I understand the importance of providing a non-judgmental environment to process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions during these challenging moments.
It is my belief that everyone can benefit from psychotherapy to gain a better understanding of the feelings that come with human experience. Forming a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of my practice because I believe the quality of our relationship is the basis of what can lead to healing.
I work with my clients to gain greater insight within themselves, which can help them carry out how they want to be in the world. I use evidence-based therapy such as CBT, DBT, solution focused, narrative, and emotion focused, depending on my client’s needs. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families cope with life challenges with compassion and empathy. It has been incredibly fulfilling for me to see my clients make progress and reach their goals for therapy.
